The increasing need for good gutter maintenance

Guttering is an integral part of any roof construction, and as our climate continues to change with wetter winters and more frequent storms, the need for good gutter maintenance is heightened.

We offer full gutter cleaning and replacement services and use only the finest milled aluminium replacement gutters in a range of styles to suit varying project needs. We can also offer full cast iron gutters. However, wherever possible, we recommend using milled aluminium, due to the many benefits it can provide over the cast iron alternative.

The main benefit of aluminium is that it does not rust. All joints can also be fixed with a low molecule sealant that is highly flexible to compensate for the dramatic temperature swings that are becoming the norm as the seasons become more unpredictable in Scotland. Aluminium is also half the weight of its cast iron predecessor, which means there will be less strain on the fixings and the timbers that it is generally fixed to.

For all our replacement moulded gutters, we can provide full underclaoking, which is the term used for a lead flashing fixed behind the gutter. This undercloaking helps to prevent overflow into the building resulting from storms where the gutter simply cannot cope with the volume of water.

We also offer bespoke lead gutters to suit more complex project needs, whether this be parapet gutters or stepped down valley lead gutters with continued gutters installed with T-Pren expansion joints.
